This month’s idea:
Develop a Family Covenant!

What is a Covenant?

Building a covenant is another way of talking about the promises that we make with one another.
For example your family covenant might include, "We promise to listen to each other," or "we promise to work together to keep our home safe and clean."
You may even include simple things like, "we recycle," or "no hitting!"

How can a family create a Covenant?
Invite the entire family together (young and old) to brainstorm some ideas about how we want to be with one another.  Consider asking these questions to help start the process:

·        How should we act to keep our home safe and fun?
·        How SHOULDN’T we act?
·        How should we remind each other when we break our covenant?  What words should we use?

Remember to post your family covenant where you can refer to it easily and add to it as needed.
Have fun with this activity; sometimes the most obvious things can be the most profound (and entertaining!)

But maybe keep the crayons away from the little ones...
